Cotswold Canals
Vision for the Project
We aim to create a series of six captivating short films, each approximately two minutes long, showcasing the vital work and vibrant community spirit of six partner organisations within the Cotswold Canals Connected project. These films will serve to celebrate the invaluable contributions of volunteers, highlight the diverse opportunities available, and inspire new volunteers to join. The films will be premiered at a volunteer celebration event on October 3, 2024, and subsequently featured on the respective organisations' websites and social media platforms.
Example of previous work: Access Bike, Stroud
Objectives:
1. Celebrate Volunteers: Capture the dedication, passion, and diverse activities of volunteers to honor their contributions.
2. Attract New Volunteers: Illustrate the benefits and fulfilling experiences of volunteering to encourage local community members to get involved.
3. Showcase Partner Organizations: Highlight the unique missions, goals, and community impact of each partner organisation.
4. Enhance Community Engagement: Use storytelling to build a stronger connection between the community and the canal heritage, fostering a sense of pride and involvement.
Creative Approach:
Human-Centric Storytelling: Each film will feature a volunteer who will narrate their experiences and guide viewers through the organisation’s activities.
- Warm and Inviting Tone: The films will be uplifting and inspiring, emphasising the personal growth and community benefits derived from volunteering.
- Diverse Visuals: Showcase various activities, events, and environments associated with each organisation to capture the full spectrum of volunteer experiences.
Accessible and Inclusive: Ensure all films are subtitled and provide transcripts to cater to all audiences.
